A thunderstorm breaks the night sky over Mount Santo Tomas as seen from Baguio City on Tuesday. The weather bureau Pagasa said the monsoon break experienced the past three days is over, with the Southwest monsoon expected to bring rains over Luzon and the Visayas.

PHOTOS: Sun halo visible in Bicol. 

According to the University of Illinois’ Department of Atmospheric Sciences, a sun halo or 22 degree halo forms when light from the sun or moon is refracted by ice crystals associated with thin, high-level clouds.
